Joey Parker

Joey ParkerJoey “J.E.” Parker is a veteran police officer with over a decade in law enforcement. In that time, he has worked as a patrol officer, a field training officer for new recruits, and a Special Agent with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. His work has allowed him to see people at the lowest points in their lives as they struggled to come to grips with the consequences of bad decisions. It was his own family’s struggle with this type of situation that led him to seek a career as a police officer.

While in college, Joey’s family was met with the murder of a close family member. The effects of that crime, and the pain of seeing the perpetrator never brought to justice, altered the course of his life. He changed his academic focus and began the journey to becoming a law enforcement officer.

With the majority of his career spent in rural towns and communities, Joey experienced a more personal side of law enforcement. Small towns offer generations of connections where relationships run deep and the community more closely shares in the pain and joy of its individual members. When a serious crime strikes one of these communities, it ripples out to affect people in different ways.

Joey’s book, If Good Men Do Nothing, uses a combination of his first-hand experience in criminal investigations and his Christian faith to tell a story of loss, suffering, faith, and perseverance as the characters struggle to find the answers to a crime those in power would rather remain a mystery.

Joey currently lives in West Tennessee with his wife and two children. He can be reached through his website,
