Eating Sunshine

Isaac sat on a fluff of down bedding gazing into a dust powdered light beam. His eyes widened as he put his toddler fingers out into the ray to test it. Warmth spread over my heart as he leaned forward, opened his mouth and ate the sunshine. He turned with a smile and said, “Yum, yum Mama!”

How many times have you eaten sunshine? How many times do you test the good and then unabashedly take it all in? My toddler grasped the wonder of God’s creation, the wonder of a cherished moment while tasting light. Our days fill, as mine was that day, with conversations, problems, and chores to keep the smooth running flow of our life. Crowded schedules cause us to lose the purity in one slice of sunshine. How can we change this and learn to take a moment fully as it is.

Philippians 4:6-8; Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

Take time today to taste the sunshine. Enjoy each moment knowing that happy thoughts lead to a happy life. God Bless You!
