Consider This

I also host a sixty- second spot designed to challenge listeners to consider their lives through the lens of God’s truth called Consider This. My book, Shattered: Finding Hope and Healing through the losses of life is by Leafwood Publishers. Friend, I am no stranger to loss and suffering. In 2013, I lost my beloved husband to suicide and my world was decimated. I speak candidly about my loss(es) in the hope of helping others to heal.

Shattered: Finding Hope and Healing through the Losses of Life

Shattered: Rita SchulteToo many people today are suffering from the catastrophic effects of loss. This year 3 million people will die from disease alone, leaving loved ones grieving, not to mention millions more affected by divorce, suicide, the rise of mental health disorders, war/terrorism, abuse, and economic failure. These statistics reflect the gravity of losses in today’s culture.

Because most people equate loss primarily with death, many fail to notice that abstract losses of shattered dreams, unmet expectations, loss of hope, trust, even the loss of faith, can have serious long-range consequences on the heart.

Shattered explores how unidentified or unresolved loss impacts every area of life, especially our relationship with God. The long-range impact of these losses is often obscured, buried beneath the conscious surface in an attempt to avoid pain.

This book calls the reader to “notice” the losses of life. It explains how grief avoidance strategies like denial and control can keep us from fighting the battle to reclaim and reinvest our hearts after loss, and what faith-based strategies are necessary for healing.

Linking the age-old questions about the enigma of suffering to the grief experience, Shattered challenges the reader to decide about critical matters of faith and the heart. By stepping into the lives of those who have experienced loss and recovered with their faith still intact, this book offers the reader a faith based platform of hope by teaching “healing tasks of the heart” designed to facilitate secure attachment to God.

Welcome to Ambassadors for Christ Radio!

Alive in Christ Radio Network:
Sundays: 9:00AM – 10:00AM Pacific

Savage Ministries International was founded in June 2006 in Panamá City, Republica de Panamá. Shawn and Caroline Savage are Ordained Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The founder of Savage Ministries International and Ambassadors for Christ Radio (AFCR) is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who through Him all things are possible, as we focus on our heavenly Father’s plan for our lives. Our mission is based on the biblical discipleship principle to become Ambassadors for Christ, spread the Word of God, His Holy Bible, and make disciples out of men for the purpose of reconciliation to our Lord. Savage Ministries International accept our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and promote God’s Word. As Christians, we all should obey our Lord, operate by faith, and remain patient as our Lord fulfills His promises at His will.

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20 NIV).

Shawn D. Savage is an ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Shawn is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. As an ordained minister, Shawn believes that the Christian discipleship process is an ongoing process to the route of salvation. He believes that we are all Ministers and need to be Ambassadors for Christ Jesus.

Following the footsteps of Jesus Christ is not easy and only true Disciples of Christ have a chance when they allow the Holy Spirit to control their lives as they give their hearts to God. The ability to love God and our neighbors while forgiving them of their transgressions is to walk like Jesus. Our Lord will forgive us of our transgressions when we ask and give Him thanksgiving.

Shawn’s educational background consists of a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. His published works are included in ¿Uncertainties? and Reasoning and Mourning Morning.

Caroline R. Savage is an Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and a consultant for Professional Progress Academy.

Caroline believes that people are the most important asset in organizations. Effective communication increases expectation clarity and productivity. Providing for employees, using the power of words to build them up not to tear them down, enhances processes in striving toward organizational goals.

Caroline’s educational background consists of a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, MBA in Human Resources Management, and currently pursuing a Doctor of Management. Her published books include Mourning Morning and ¿Uncertainties? and Reasoning.

Additional Information:

Savage Ministries International currently have two published books; ¿Uncertainties? And Reasoning (2011) and Mourning Morning (2012) by author Caroline R. Savage. Both books share inspiring tips on how to serve Christ with a joyful heart and extend gratitude to our Lord regardless of personal situations. Reflecting upon biblical stories and applying God’s law to our behavior should mandate the way we behave. Every uncertainty that challenges us, the manner in which we should respond the reasoning is found in the Bible which is God’s Word and Will; His purpose for our existence.

Pertaining to the Great Commission, Jesus stated “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV).

Our mission at Ambassadors for Christ Radio to make believers and disciples of all men throughout the world; to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; to teach and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ for all to follow and obey what He has commanded.

Dr. James Dobson: Family Talk

April 30, 2011 by
Filed under Dr. James Dobson, Features, Spotlight

Packed with the same insight and wisdom that Dr. Dobson has provided audiences for more than 30 years, “Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson” objectives are to help families and influence the culture — all of this is flowing out of a heart for spiritual transformation thru trust in Christ for every life.  It’s the voice you trust … for the family you love!

More than 30 years ago, Dr. James C. Dobson, Ph.D., founded Focus on the Family as a non-profit organization, established to undergird Christian values for families in today’s world.  What began as a radio program on a few stations in 1977 has grown to a network of more than 3000 facilities in North America (with thousands more in 160 countries worldwide) plus a daily commentary heard by more than 220 million people.

Undertaking a significant “recalibration” of ministry direction, Dr. Dobson began a transition out of leadership at Focus on the Family in 2003, which ultimately led to the conclusion of that long history with Focus as of February 2010.  Confident, however, of God’s continued call on his life, Dr. Dobson continues to speak to families through his program, Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson, which launched in May 2010.  In articulating the objectives for this new endeavor, Dr. Dobson has reiterated:  We will be dealing with childrearing, marriage, a wide variety of family topics, and of course, cultural and political issues.  Our country is facing desperate circumstances now, and the family needs all the help it can get.  Thus, we are circling back to 1977, when I left [USC] to address the same concerns.

Dr. Dobson began his “family focus” as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, serving for 17 years on the Attending Staff of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in the Division of Child Development and Medical Genetics.  He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (1967) in the field of child development.

With that platform of credentialed expertise, Dr. Dobson turned to writing; his first volume (Dare to Discipline) becoming a best-seller — as did those which followed including The Strong-Willed Child;  Love Must Be Tough; Life on the Edge; Night Light for Parents and When God Doesn’t Make Sense.  In April 2010, Bringing Up Girls (a much-anticipated companion to the popular Bringing Up Boys, 2002) will be released.

His first film series, Focus on the Family, has been seen by over 80 million people (and is currently undergoing re-release).  Subsequent video series include Turn Your Heart Toward Home (1986) and Life on The Edge, designed to help late teens bridge the gap between adolescence and young adulthood, (1994).  In 2002, an eleven-part series based on his best-selling book, Bringing Up Boys was released, and in 2005, he recorded the Focus on Your Child series which presents his time-honored childrearing principles to a new generation of parents.

Over the years, Dr. Dobson’s commitment has resulted in his being called upon for civic responsibilities related to the family.  He served on the task force which summarized the White House Conference on Families and received a special commendation from President Jimmy Carter in 1980.  He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to the National Advisory Commission to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, 1982-84.  He was appointed to Attorney General Edwin Meese’s Commission on Pornography (1985-86) and served with the Attorney General’s Advisory Board on Missing and Exploited Children (1987).  In December, 1994, Dr. Dobson was appointed by Senator Robert Dole to the Commission on Child and Family Welfare; and in October, 1996, he was appointed by Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott to the National Gambling Impact Study Commission.

That public service, in addition to the tremendous constituency of Focus on the Family, has afforded Dr. Dobson invitation to speak into the culture through a variety of channels including the widely-viewed Larry King Show, appearances on Fox and other national network programming, as well as before audiences in live settings across the country.

His unswerving devotion to the family has been honored by many organizations including being chosen as Layman of the Year by the National Association of Evangelicals (1982) and as “The Children’s Friend” (1987) by CHILDHELP USA.  He has been awarded honorary doctoral degrees from 17 universities including most recently Doctor of Divinity from Southern Evangelical Seminary (2008).  A member of the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame, Dr. Dobson also accepted the award on behalf of  Focus on the Family as the program was inducted in the National Radio Hall of Fame (Chicago 2008). In 2009, he was given the Ronald Reagan Lifetime Achievement Award by the Council for National Policy, and the Home School Legal Defense Association Lifetime Achievement Beacon of Liberty Award.

Dr. Dobson is married to Shirley whose leadership on behalf of the National Day of Prayer has been a longtime commitment.  The Dobsons have two grown children:  Danae, an accomplished author and speaker in her own right, and Ryan who will participate in the new broadcast, in addition to hosting his own ministry Internet radio program called KorKast. Ryan and his wife, Laura, are the proud parents of the Dobsons’ grandchild, Lincoln Cash.
