On this edition of Alive in Christ Radio LIVE, we carry on with our discipleship series. “Discipleship: The Motivated Church.” What is it that motivates you and moves your life from passive observance to active participation in the work of Christ? We examine God’s Word and excerpts from “The Discipling Church” text.
It is our prayer that you be Spirit-filled and blessed by what you will discover on this unique edition of Alive in Christ Radio LIVE.
During these two hours, we will learn how God’s perfect love and faithfulness can help us walk hand-in-hand with God—leading us through this life into a life of total victory, in all things, through His anointing, discernment, and great comfort.
Special Guest: Alice Wisler (Christian Author)
We round out our program with features including Joyce Meyer’s “Everyday Moments”, Focus on the family’s Plugged-In Movie Review and Focus on the Family Minute, Beth Moore’s “A Quick Word”, Luis Palau’s “Reaching Your World”, and Dave Ramsey’s “Daily Money Makeover.”
On this edition of Alive in Christ, Christian Discipleship Ministries’ Founder, Tony Marino and Lynn Kennedy explore life’s guidelines verses His “God-lines”, and will it be “your way”, or “Yahweh?” We invite you to join us.
On this episode we will learn to, “let go and let God.”
“The harvest is great, but the workers are few.” Matthew 9:37
Alive in Christ Radio LIVE || In-Studio Guest: Alice Wisler
In 1997 Alice’s four-year-old son Daniel died after eight months of cancer treatments. Writing became her respite—the therapy she needed to help her in her anguish. In Daniel’s memory she created Daniel’s House Publications. Wanting other parents to be able to write about their children, she asked parents to send recipes and memories for her two remembrance cookbooks, Slices of Sunlight (2000) and Down the Cereal Aisle (2003). Memories Around the Table (due out next month) is her third memorial cookbook, only this time she opened it up to include recipes from all loved ones, and not just from children gone much too soon.
Alice is also the author of five inspirational novels: Rain Song, How Sweet It Is, Hatteras Girl, A Wedding Invitation, and Still Life in Shadows. Her devotional on grief and loss, Getting Out of Bed in the Morning: Reflections of Comfort in Heartache, is a companion for those going through life’s losses. She writes for Open to Hope and has three blogs. Alice teaches Writing the Heartache workshops and often speaks and presents at Bereaved Parents and The Compassionate Friends conferences as well as other events across the country.
She lives in Durham, NC with her husband and children.

Title: Getting Out of Bed in the Morning: Reflections of Comfort in Heartache
Getting Out of Bed in the Morning motivates readers who are facing grief and loss to get out of bed and face a life which, although diminished by unfathomable sadness, still holds purpose and beauty.
Written in devotional format, Getting Out of Bed in the Morning is a companion for those going through sorrow associated with loss–whether brought to the journey through the death of a loved one, failing health, job loss, broken relationships, or weakened family ties. Losses are real and raw; they often make people want to give up, quit trying. Yet, as readers discover how their circumstances can be used to lift hands to God, and in time reach others, they will see how God can use them to be people of encouragement and find beauty once again in a life worth living.
These forty devotionals address the painful hardships realistically, as well as the doubt, worry, and fear that come with them. The pages are packed with tips on how readers should take care of themselves and draw near to God so that healing is possible. Each devotional includes reflection, prayer, and suggestions for those who want to integrate walks into their daily routine.
